The lower the number the darker the lens is which does not pass light. [What is polycarbonate] The polycarbonate used in SWANS sunglasses is a resin with excellent impact resistance and transparency and is also used in aircraft windshields and space suit helmets. It is highly impact resistant and does not shatter easily and even if it does break it will not shatter making it a very safe lens material for sports sunglasses.
