[What is Visible Light Transmittance] The amount of light that passes through the lens is expressed as a number. It is displayed from 0% to 100% with the state of the naked eye being 100%. The lower the number the darker the lens is which does not transmit light. [What is polycarbonate] The polycarbonate used in SWANS sunglasses is a resin with excellent impact resistance and transparency and is also used in aircraft windshields and space suit helmets. It is impact resistant and does not break easily and even if it does break it does not shatter making it a highly safe material for sports sunglasses lenses. SWANS uses its own scratch-resistant lens the Petroid Lens based on this polycarbonate.
